Missing my baby...

Yesterday, my friend sent her son off to school for teh first time. Listening to her talk about her baby made me miss the time when I had little bitty kids - and this song keeps running through my head - It is from the new Dixie Chicks album:

They didn't have you where I come from
Never knew the best was yet to come
Life began when I saw your face
And I hear your laugh like a serenade

How long do you want to be loved
Is forever enough, is forever enough
How long do you want to be loved
Is forever enough
Cause I'm never, never giving you up

I slip in bed when you're asleep
To hold you close and feel your breath on me
Tomorrow there'll be so much to do
So tonight I'll drift in a dream with you

How long do you want to be loved
Is forever enough, is forever enough
How long do you want to be loved
Is forever enough
Cause I'm never, never giving you up

As you wander through this troubled world
In search of all things beautiful
You can close your eyes when you're miles away
And hear my voice like a serenade

How long do you want to be loved
Is forever enough, is forever enough
How long do you want to be loved
Is forever enough
Cause I'm never, never giving you up
How long do you want to be loved
Is forever enough, is forever enough
How long do you want to be loved
Is forever enough
Cause I'm never, never giving you up
Is forever enough
Cause I'm never, never giving you up

Lullaby, Dixie Chicks 2006

We might 'loosen our grip' but we NEVER let go.
Hugs to you as you both make a new way and navigate this journey.

awwwww.....I miss her too! I have a care package ready to ship to her on Monday. Can't believe she is all grown up already. Our little bear....what a delightful miracle she was and still is. You did good when you gave birth to that little package!

I was listening to a co-worker complain about going home and cooking dinner then going to football practice and doing the "child chores" and I felt the "green eyed monster" in me coming out. I miss doing all that stuff and look forward to doing it with Nate the Great soon.
